Building Food Independence

Farm from a Box provides infrastructural support to stabilize and localize our production. By combining climate-smart technologies with independent solar power, our system works to reduce import reliance and build livelihoods.
Our off-grid infrastructure makes profit-focused commercial farming more sustainable and resilient, strengthening local sourcing and supply. By doing that, we help build opportunities for employment, enhance access to technological know-how, empower women and youth to take leadership positions, and help economically strengthen communities.
Social Impact
Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond working towards the lowest environmental impact. We believe opportunity and equity are critical aspects of sustainability, too. Keeping our core focus on communities ensures we don't lose sight of our 'togetherness' and creates opportunities for bottom-up and localized food system transformations.

Environmental Impact
Conventional farming has historically used high rates of fossil fuels, fertilizers, pesticides, and water, releasing large amounts of greenhouse gases, degrading soil health, and harming ecosystems. Farm from a Box’s off-grid modular system reduces agriculture’s footprint while providing farmers with the infrastructure needed to improve crop production, reduce losses, boost profits, and save on energy costs.
Our system provides independent solar power, water-efficient drip irrigation, in-field cold storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a data platform that can optimize efficiencies and provide remote support.

Regenerate Soils
Instead of clearing more land to keep up with production demands, Farm from a Box can work alongside regenerative farming practices to sequester carbon and regenerate the soils we've degraded.
Carbon-rich soils on regenerative farms naturally provide more essential nutrients to crops. This lessens the need for heavy synthetic fertilizer applications - reducing agricultural runoff, protecting waterways, and lowering operating costs.
